The fine print

Editorial Disclaimer

Last reviewed 30 July 2026 · PlayObserve

PlayObserve reports on the business of games. That work comes with a few important limits, and we'd rather state them clearly than bury them.

Journalism, not advice

Everything we publish is editorial and informational. It is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or fund anything. If you're making a decision with real money behind it, talk to a qualified professional who knows your situation. Our reporting can inform that conversation; it can't replace it.

About the figures

Many numbers on this site — especially the charts and callouts on the home page — are illustrative estimates, and we label them as such. Where we work from disclosed rounds, public filings and our own tracking, the underlying detail lives in the reports. Even sourced figures carry uncertainty: markets move, deals stay private, and companies report on their own terms. Treat every number as a considered estimate, not a guarantee.

No forecasts, no promises

We describe what has happened and what the data suggests. We do not promise that any trend continues, that any studio succeeds, or that any reader profits from what they read here. Past patterns in the games market are not a reliable guide to the future.

Not a gambling service

PlayObserve covers video games as an industry — funding, launches, studios and market structure. Nothing on this site involves wagering, staking money on outcomes, games of chance, or the chance to win cash. We are a journalism desk, full stop, and no part of our product is a gambling product.

External links and corrections

Where we link out, we don't control or endorse those sites. And because getting it right matters more than looking right, if you spot an error, tell us at [email protected] and we'll correct the record openly.
